It seems that Dominion's Alternative One is making PATH very nervous, as it rightly should. Their lobbyists have been hard at work ever since we left Charleston 2 weeks ago, trying to kill House Concurrent Resolution 58. This resolution has a tremendous amount of support from legislators, so PATH's only hope is to kill it in committee. First they said Res. 58 was "misleading the public". When that didn't work, they said PATH would provide jobs. When that didn't work, it's rumored that they resorted to threatening to withhold their corporate "stewardship" (don't laugh... PATH is serious about this vapid phrase!) from the campaign coffers of legislators running for Governor, including the chairman of the committee where HCR 58 languishes. See this post on TPL. Guess what, PATH? You can't vote! Hahahahahah! CommentsDa Hillbilly 02/26/2011 4:19am
This is in no way surprizing at all. PATH has shown time and time again that they will resort to any means neccessary to gain their huge profit center. Now with First Energy driving the Allegheny bus it's quite possible the new drivers will see what a "ridicufarce" PATH truly is and get on with conducting a legitimate business!

No, not surprising -- it's to be expected when dealing with these critters. However, they now operate in a transparent environment, and their corporate reputation continues to be foolishly squandered away with their dirty deals intended to bolster their failing PATH initiative. You can't improve your reputation with even dirtier behavior -- it can only be accomplished by rising out of the swamp and polishing your smudged integrity with actual honest actions and deeds. And we know that's never going to happen :-) They don't know how, and furthermore, they don't want to!

Oh, and don't look for a change of bus route just because they have a new driver. This bus still stops at all the wrong corners.

My Granny always said "no matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it's always gonna be a pig!" Sure seems appropriate here.
