The power companies behind the Susquehanna-Roseland transmission line made some skimpy details of their "mitigation package" public today in their comments on the NPS Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Today was the deadline for comments (hope you got your comments in!). Their comment letter goes on for pages and pages and refers to Exhibits that are nowhere to be found. If anyone knows where Exhibit 9 is, let me know, that's the one that supposedly contains the "methodology" for their madness. The letter contains some of the most outrageous lies I've ever heard, and just in case the NPS doesn't believe them, the power companies unleash a couple of veiled threats. Nice. And I haven't even read the whole thing yet. Anyhow, here's what's available on the power company's proffered bribe:

Well, that figures... I already had them at the top of the suspect list due to their history of sucking up to environment-destroying power companies to help promote their transmission projects as an "advertising partner" in exchange for big "donations" (that end up in the cost of the transmission projects).

Well, I'd say that a confrontational approach certainly worked to kill the PATH project, so I guess TNC is WRONG. But, of course, there's no money in honor and dignity, so they're not interested, (but the laughs are frequent and satisfying)!
